About Shimmy

Shimmy is a simple sketch-based animation tool for flipbook-style animation. You can save your animations as animated GIFs, PNGs containing all the frames, or SVG.

Shimmy code is © 2020 Richond Public Library.
Individual works made with Shimmy are owned by the individual authors.
Code libraries under /lib is external to Shimmy and copyrights/licenses are controlled by the authors of each such library.

Shimmy code is open-source under the General Public License.

Shimmy documentation, tutorials, and examples are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License.

• d Toggle Storyboard view (in progress)

• ⌃+y/⇧+⌘+z Redo (per-frame)
• n New File
• ⌃+s/⌘+s Save File (as SVG)
• ⌃+o/⌘+o Load File (from SVG)
• g Save as GIF
• p Save as PNG
• ⇧+1 Select Pen tool
• ⇧+2 Select Rotate tool
• ⇧+3 Select Move tool
• ⇧+4 Select Zoom In tool
• ⇧+5 Select Zoom Out tool
